2024 Review and 2025 Goals - Any additional thoughts?

Volunteers needed!

Cuoio Volunteer Updates

April 17 - 8am at Lacey parks to make plan on how the course can be built. May include instruction about how to get volunteers involved. We are trying to finalize our various contracts also. Hours will need to be tracked because there’s a limit for much volunteer can be done, as part of their grant.

New business

Evergreen Rental Policy Update

Mark talked to Jake Lind will try to make portapotties will be serviced before tournaments. Cost is $200/day as of this year.

WA DG Hall of Fame
Paul Wright is creating a WA DG Hall of Fame and announce the first few people this fall. They are gathering info and coming up with a plan for how to implement. They will have classes come in every year for a few years, then change to every other year. We have good history in disc golf, so it is overdue to have our own, since many other states have their own. Our club would like to participate and help fund in anyway possible.

New tournament series
Since PackEx Cup isn’t happening John is putting together another series. Much less payouts, but points system will be about the same $30 to register for the series. Payouts are TBD as of now. The series will serve as a fundraiser for the HoF and for SPSDGA ($3 each out of registration). Points will be run out of SPSDGA website. Not a lot of time for planning, but John will continue to fundraise throughout the year. There will be no early access and no tournament incentives. Disc Golf Scene will be where people can register for the series. “Great NW Point Series”. All divisions will offered and if there is at least 2 within the division, they will be offered an invite to finals and will receive a payout.

WCP Dubs Update
April 4 first WCP dubs. Thanks John McCarty. Ace pot at $300, back up is $300, with ~$10 in second back up. Jeremy Marsh will be helping and Aaron Bedle.

Lacey Metropolitan Parks Dept
Lacey is trying to obtain their own budget. They will vote on it this summer. If it passes, there will be more money for parks.

2025 Events

Finished

South sound invitational and dubs recap - might not happen again, there were only 19 players. Might go back to WCP and dubs weekend. 23 teams for the dubs. Weather was better for that. Mark decided to sell mulligans which helped to add more cash for SSC. Added $1500 to the tournament. $1500 left needed to fundraiser.

Upcoming

Top Dog Challenge/Finals - Delphi April 19-20 & Sept 20-21. $1500 committed to the tournament already. 2nd event of Great NW Points Series. Plenty of room for people to play.

Windfall Masters Cup - June 28-29, is part of Disc Golf Masters Tour. Might be shotgun start, 2 rounds at Evergreen.

South Sound Classic - July 18-20. All 3 courses are booked. Need $1500 more to raise for the purse.

Senior Games - June 28. Rick Gill is running it at Woodland. Justin has been contact, has not responded. It’ll be on one side of the creek.

Woodland Creek Classic - Sept 27-28 (TBD). Justin told us the bridge is being replaced this year and could impact the dates.

Course Updates and ongoing work

Woodland Creek
Hole 2 is still a mud pit. Needs big gravel. We have permission to do, just need a few people to commit to a date.

April 5 (French drain) tentative date for work party. We voted to buy rock for the drainage. All ayes, motion passes.

A few tee signs are rotted and have been pushed over. Rick will replace the posts. Thank you Rick.

Delphi

New golf course committee has done some work around the golf course cleaning up holes 12/13 and adding gravel in front of tee pads to prevent erosion. The clubhouse manager quit so we will be dealing with someone else, but shouldn’t affect our tournaments. There’s an opening for anyone who wants to work. Possible food truck to come to Delphi. Beer deal could be back on the table. A short course could be designed. Hole 2 could be redesigned

Evergreen State college
Course is playing well. Could still use a kiosk. Need erosion control for teepads and other areas.

Evergreen Sportsmen's Club
No updates

Cuoio Park
They have broken ground. There’s a fence up and a rudimentary parking lot. We need the service first before we can really do work. April 17 8am to finalize contracts. Lacey City Hall

New Disc Golf Course Leads

Tumwater Parks
John walked with their head of maintenance and demoed disc golf. Possibility of disc golf, Pioneer Park or two other parks are possible.
