Agenda
Old business
Trailer damage
John sprayed it with silicone to seal it. Needs to be dried out and painted over.
L&F Updates from John
John is still gathering L&F and texting them. Most get delivered to PackEx, otherwise holds them for 60 days and then sell them. Made $140 for the club so far.
Beer sales
Custom beer sale was asked about, however we don’t have the funds to make that happen at this time. However, we still are interested in it.
New business
2024 Review and 2025 Goals
2024: Interest and numbers are leveling off, partly due to the state of disc golf.
2025: Keep running the same quality events. Get more people involved. Possible more youth/senior outreach.
How can we reach more kids? Getting involved with schools is likely a good route for getting discs in the hands of kids. Need to find a teacher who is interested in partnering with us. Also getting on Lacey Park’s schedule and seeing who shows up.
Fundraising ideas
- Beer sales
- Raffles
- Events/Series - Skills competition, points series, bag tags, Pro/Ams, etc
PackEx Cup
PackEx Cup was asked about. John isn’t helping with that anymore so it’s on PackEx whether it will happen or not. There’s possibilities for another type of series to take hold to keep players happy who enjoyed the format.
Cuoio Work System
John has been meeting with Parks. Will learn more about timeline soon, but we need to develop a system for how volunteer work will be managed at Cuoio. GPD was asked to be the keeper of the gate key. John would like to advertise the current work being done so anyone with a few extra hours could go out and do some work.
2025 Events
South Sound Invitational - March 15, on DGS soon to be sanctioned
Windfall Masters Cup - TBD, should be a part of Disc Golf Masters Tour
South Sound Classic - July 18-20. $1850 to rent Delphi and is booked.. Shelton is booked. Evergreen is Booked.
Senior Games - July 25-27. GPD is running it this year.
Woodland Creek Classic - Sept 27-28.
John will be running 2 events at Delphi. April 20-21, Sept 20-21. $1500 committed to the tournament already.
Course Updates and ongoing work
Woodland Creek
Still getting muddy around 2 and 3’s tee pad. Needs a french drain possibly.
Delphi
Looking good. There are some trees that could be removed from 12-13 though.
Evergreen State college
Looking good
Evergreen Sportsmen's Club
Doesn’t have baskets there anymore. But it still looks like there’s a course there.
Cuoio Park
Discussed above.
New Disc Golf Course Leads
Tenino Parks gave approval for a 12 hole course, but needs baskets for the course. Rotary riverside park has a soft expansion for 10 holes. Schaefer park has 7 baskets in the grounds as of now, still a WIP. Lewis Parks might give approval at Rose Park in Adna, possibly at transfer center, and close to Centralia water treatment plant. Lewis County has bought baskets for Shaefer and Rose Park in Adna.
Kraken Boards is a store that’s interested in disc golf and is retailing some now. Some cool collaboration between skate and disc.
