Old business

• Doubles at Delphi
  • Delphi suggests booking a couple of tee times to reserve the time.

New business

Cuoio Park

Had a meeting last Thursday as to what they needed from us. Discussions about contracts (construction, maintenance). Jennifer from parks said they would cut anything down to 3 feet to make “fairways”, 40ft diameter around baskets. We get to select 25 trees to remove. John and Josh refined GPS locations for 10 holes. John and someone else to hopefully go out later this week to finish. Jennifer requested finalized GPS coordinates by end of week.

Also discussed raising funds because they need to reduce costs by $200,000. SPSDGA agreed to ask disc manufacturers if they are interested in sponsoring the course. The city of Lacey may rent our baskets so they don’t have to add permanent baskets before the course is finalized. We may be able to negotiate extra benefits for the rental use of our baskets.

The current construction plan will not be nearly enough to finish the course, but we can try to prioritize the big stuff for them to remove and we might be able to take care of the smaller stuff.

Team golf

We need bodies for Team Oly. Jeff has volunteered. Rob is on Team Mythic and Josh cannot commit. John is likely new Captain.

Elections

Usually we take nominations in November, which helps to select for team golf members. We will close nominations a week before voting. Proxy votes will be available for members.

Home Depot

Mark had a call from someone at Home Depot corporate, who is a disc golfer. 10 stores nationwide will plot a new program for additional mulch, extra concrete, and other misc supplies that they have a hard time destroying. 

2024 Events

Packex Disc Golf South Sound Classic - Recap

• Went well, thanks to PackEx. If anyone knows of anyone who wants to put out $3000 for next year as title sponsor, contact Mark.
• A tier request was submitted for next, July 18-20.

Woodland Creek Classic - Sept 28-29

• 48 players registered on AM, 27 for Pro/MA1 day.
• Almost all divisions have at least 4 people.
• Disc ordered from Innova.
• Mark needs the course be flagged and painted 21-22nd, if anyone wants to volunteer contact Mark. Supplies will be provided. If no volunteers, it will be done the Wednesday beforehand.
• McCarty has volunteered.

Senior games at WCP - Recap

• 30-40 people, 2 rounds of 18. Went well and everyone had a good time. GPD won the ring of fire at the end.
• Rick said he will not do it next year.

Ace race - Recap

• Couple of people thought the holes were too long. Was a good time though, thank you John. 3 aces, 30 players.

Trilogy Challenge - Recap

• 21 players, registration is down, but everyone had a good time.

Odus Fall Open

• Next weekend, 112 players. Still open for anyone who wants to play. Shotgun start, capped at 141 players. Slightly new format for this year.
• Rob will be asst TD. 
• Players meeting 7:30, start at 8. 3 rounds.

Quack of Dawn

• There will be a fall league either at Evergreen or Delphi.
• Tim Sharp will assist.
• Starts in Oct, 8 week league.

Course Updates and ongoing work 

Woodland Creek

• Looks pretty good.

Delphi

• Trees have been taken down. There are big rounds on hole 1. Josh will ask if those can be taken care of.
• Holes 12 and 13 should be ok.
• Hole 3 might need a small haircut.

Evergreen State college

• Looks good

Evergreen Sportsman’s Club

• Mark knows a guy who can do clearing for $1200. May be an option to help clear the course out.
